Hu
Hu was the god of taste and the personification of the divine command, and Sia (Esye) was the goddess of wisdom. They were among creative forces of the sun-god, of which there were fourteen during the New Kingdom. They came into being from the drops of blood spilt when Re cut his phallus, which probably meant he circumcised himself.They are the drops of blood which came forth from the phallus of Ra when he went forth to perform his own mutilation. Hu is [in] thy mouth, and Esye is behind theeDuring the Middle Kingdom Atem merged with Hu and Sia into the primordial god. Later Hu was identified with Shu, whom he replaced.

Hu accompanied the sun-god on his barque, protecting him and his authority. He was generally depicted in human form, sometimes in the shape of Hapi, the Nile god.
